Club Code of Conduct
WE TAKE SAFETY VERY SERIOUSLY AND RULES ARE STRICTLY ENFORCED!
Safety rules are posted at each trap field as well in several places inside the clubhouse. Read them, understand them and practice them at all times. Eye and ear protection are NOT optional, you MUST wear both every time you walk out to the line.
- When you first arrive at the club you MUST see the Ranger Manager before going on the line to shoot.
- Keep the action of your gun OPEN and UNLOADED AT ALL TIMES while moving from post to post and from field to field.
- Keep your gun pointed downrange at all times when you are on the line
- NEVER move from post to post with a shell in your gun, even a spent shell is illegal.
- NO high brass hunting shells
- No pellet size larger than 7.5 (7-1/2) or smaller than 9 are allowed
-
Maximum velocity varies by weight of the load:
-
» 1290 FPS for a 1-1/8oz. load
» 1325 FPS for a 1oz load
» 1350 FPS for a 7/8oz load -
Only ONE SHELL in the gun at a time when shooting Singles or Handicap.
When shooting Doubles, Wobble, or 5 Stand ONLY TWO shells are allowed.
SHOOTING ETIQUETTE
- Buckets are provided at each station for spent shells - PLEASE USE THEM. If spent hulls land on the ground please make sure to collect these when appropriate to do so.
- Buckets are for hulls only - no empty boxes (large garbage cans are provided next to the shelters)
- Many of our members are reloaders and gather hulls from the buckets so please do not use the buckets as spittoons!!
- When moving from Station 5 to Station 1 turn away from the microphone in a CLOCKWISE direction - this helps avoid collisions with the person moving from Station 4
- No talking on the line as this wastes birds. The microphones can't tell the difference between your conversational talking and you calling "PULL". If the micphone picks up a voice the trap will throw a bird.
