WE TAKE SAFETY VERY SERIOUSLY AND RULES ARE STRICTLY ENFORCED!
Safety rules are posted at each trap field as well in several places inside the clubhouse. Read them, understand them and practice them at all times. Eye and ear protection are NOT optional, you MUST wear both every time you walk out to the line.
MEMBER POLICY & PROCEDURES
- Membership Eligibility and Types
The North Jersey Clay Target Club offers two types of memberships:
- Annual Membership:
- Requires payment of an Annual Fee and initiation fee upon joining.
- Members are eligible to vote in club elections and participate in member only events and place discounted product orders from vendors through the club.
- Spouse and Children under 18 are eligible for complimentary family membership. Every shooting family member is required to have a signed waiver and application on file with the club. The primary member must sign the waiver along with the family member and is responsible for the conduct of their family members.
- Special discounted rates apply for shooting activities:
- $6 per round of Trap
- $8 per round of 5-stand shooting
- Associate Membership:
- No Annual fee required.
- Associate Members are not eligible to vote in club elections.
- Regular rates apply for shooting activities:
- $12 per round of Trap
- $12 per round of 5-stand shooting
ALL SALES OF TARGETS ARE FINAL. Targets cannot be refunded. Targets cannot be SOLD or TRANSFERRED to other members or visitors.
- Age Requirements
- Membership is available to individuals 18 years of age and older.
- Minors under 18 years of age may participate in club activities but must:
- Be covered under a parent or legal guardian’s membership.
- Be always accompanied by their parent or legal guardian during club activities.
- Have waivers and forms signed by the parent or legal guardian.
Membership Discounts for Veterans and First Responders (Copy of ID Required)
- Active Military and First Responders:
- No initiation fee required.
- Visiting as associate members receive a $2 discount per round on associate member rates for the day.
- Veterans:
- No initiation fee is required to become a member.
Club Membership is a privilege not a Right. Memberships can be terminated in case of unsafe handling of firearms and for any action that may jeopardize the safety and security of others in the club or the reputation of the club.
- Guest Policy
- All guests of annual members are required to sign in at the clubhouse before shooting.
- Guests must accompany the members to the clubhouse and complete a waiver and guest check-in form if they will be shooting. No one may shoot without completing the waiver.
- Guests pay a $10 fee and are allowed use of the grounds with the member without requiring a membership. During these visits, the host will use their card to pay for the targets. No targets will be issued to guests. Annual member’s guests will pay the same rates of annual members.
- Guest is allowed to be at the Club premises only until the host is present and is directly supervising the actions of the guest.
- A guest has to sign a waiver during every visit with the host member AND pay the $10 waiver fee. The guest can avoid paying the guest fee every time if they :
- Take an associate membership for the day and pay the associate member rates, or
- Join as an annual member

- Check-in Procedures
- All members are required to check in inside the clubhouse with the manager before shooting.
- Absolutely no shooting is permitted before check-in.
- ALL Annual Members, their guests and Associate members must check in at the clubhouse.
- Guests must be accompanied by their host member during sign-in.
- Guests will be issued a badge without any targets for the day, which must be worn at a visible location throughout their visit.
Member and Guest Conduct
- Host members are responsible for the conduct and safety of their guests while on club grounds.
- Members and guests must follow all safety rules and regulations.
- Any inappropriate behavior, unsafe actions, or violations of club policies may result in disciplinary actions, including suspension or revocation of membership.
- Operating Hours
Normal Hours of Operation (Weather permitting):
- Monday – CLOSED
- Tuesday – CLOSED
- Wednesday 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Thursday 9:00 AM – 8:30 PM
- Friday 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Saturday 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Sunday 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Last squad called 30 minutes before closing time.
- Members, visitors, and guests are encouraged to call the club to ensure these hours are not impacted by weather or any circumstances beyond our control that may affect club operations.
- Range Rules
- Everyone must sign up before shooting.
- Ear and eye protection are mandatory. You assume all responsibility for any injury that you incur by not wearing adequate protection.
- Gun action must be kept open at all times except when on the firing line. Always point the gun down-range.
- A gun may only be loaded at designated firing points.
- Load only one shell at a time for singles and handicap. MAX 2 SHELLS when shooting doubles, Wobble or 5 Stand.
- No tracking birds from behind shooters or birds of another shooter.
- Maximum shot size: 1 1/8 ounce, 7.5 shot. No Buckshot or Slugs. Shooters are responsible for the shells they shoot.
- Do not load your gun when any authorized person is loading or checking the trap house, 5 Stand machines or 5 stand field (Applicable for 5 Stand Participants)
- Do not approach the trap or 5-stand fields. Report malfunctions or issues to management.
- Call Ceasefire if you see unsafe conditions.
- No Alcohol consumption allowed before or during shooting.
- No alcoholic beverages allowed in the trap range area. Impaired shooters will not be permitted to shoot and will be expelled.
- Shooters are responsible for picking up their spent shotgun shells thrown outside the designated containers.
- The range operator’s decision is final on all matters involving enforcement of rules and safe operation of the range.
- For safety, the range operator may **remove **any individual from the firing line without refund for violating these rules.
- Compliance and Safety
- All individuals are required to follow North Jersey Clay Target Club’s safety rules while handling firearms on club property. Failure to sign in or adhere to safety protocols will result in restricted access to club facilities.
- Member Accountability: Members are accountable for their guest’s actions. If a guest fails to follow the club’s safety rules or any other policies, the host member may face consequences, including restricted access or suspension of membership privileges.
